Configuring mail/SMTP server

SMTP server configuration involves specifying the mail server's host, port, authentication credentials, and security protocols to allow automated email to be sent.

Find the SMTP configuration in Left Menu > Task > Send Email and enter the SMTP server details and enable SSL (if required) to complete the configuration.

Due Date

Displays the date when the Send Email task is expected to run.

Last Run

Displays the date when the Send Email task was last run.

Enabled

Select the check box to use SSL to access an SMTP mail server. By default, the check box is not enabled.

Max Send Retries

Enter maximum retries allowed to send emails.

Delivery Method

Select the delivery method for emails.

Host

Enter the hostname of the SMTP mail server to be used for SMTP transactions.

Port

Enter the port number to connect to the SMTP mail server. The default value is 25.

Pickup Directory Location

Enter the directory where applications can save emails for processing by the SMTP server.

Target Name

Enter the Service Provider Name (SPN) to use for authentication when using extended protection for SMTP transactions. This attribute has no default value.

Use SSL

Select the check box to use SSL to access an SMTP mail server.

Use Default Credentials

Select the check box to use the default user credentials to access the SMTP mail server for SMTP transactions. By default, the check box is not selected.

Username

Enter the username to use for authentication to the SMTP mail server.

Password

Enter the password to use for authentication to the SMTP mail server.

Confirm Password

Enter the password again.

Click Run Now to configure the SMTP server configuration and to run the send email task or click OK to configure the SMTP server configuration.
