Configuring retention categories
Skype for Business targets use retention categories to define the length of time conversations are retained in the archive.
When you create a Skype for Business target using the Administration Console, you can change the retention category or create one. You cannot change the retention plan that is applied to the associated archive. To apply a retention plan, edit the properties of the archive. If you use PowerShell, you must specify the settings for an existing retention category. This means that one must already exist in order to create the target.
