Problem
Simplified Disaster Recovery (SDR) does not retain IP addresses in a Hyper-V guest machine when Hyper-V Dynamic Memory is enabled for the guest.
Error Message
"C:\VProRecovery\Restore Anyware NIC Settings Status.txt" indicates Error 97. This error means that effective NIC devices are not found in recovery of the IP addresses.
-----------------------------------------
Error performing Restore Anyware NIC Settings <Error: 97>
-----------------------------------------
Cause
In some environments, the system class device GUID may be used for network devices instead of the network class device GUID. Therefore, Backup Exec treats the system class device as a network device. There is a Hyper-V dynamic memory device on the Hyper-V guest machine and exists as a system class device. The device prevents Backup Exec from correctly detecting the network device and restoring the original IP address.
Solution
Manually set the IP addresses after the recovery.
