         Conventions

         Current Release Update

The following information describes the upgrade and downgrade rules or scenarios that apply to this utility.

- Upgrade scenarios:

    The NBCCR 8.1.1 utility:

      - Should be applied to the NetBackup master server.

      - Is compatible with NetBackup versions 4.X, 5.X, 6.X, 7.X and 8.X.

      - Can be run in environments where previous versions of NBCCR have

        been run.

- Downgrade scenarios:

    None.

I.  NEW FEATURES AND PLATFORM PROLIFERATION

This section describes the new UNIX and Windows features and platform proliferation that are being released in NBCCR 8.1.1.  The following list provide brief descriptions of the platform proliferation, and the new features.

For those new features that have more detailed information available, a link is provided to a corresponding tech note.

Platform Proliferation:

NBCCR 8.1.1 offers no new platform proliferation.

New Features and Enhancements:

NBCCR 8.1.1 offers no enhancements.

III. DOWNLOAD INSTRUCTIONS

Download the correct NBCCR platform binary into the appropriate directory on the master server:

/usr/openv/netbackup/bin/support or <NetBackup install path>\NetBackup\bin\support

IV. INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

Place the correct platform binary of NBCCR on the master server in the appropriate directory:

/usr/openv/netbackup/bin/support or <NetBackup install path>\NetBackup\bin\support

NBCCR is self-documenting piece of software.  After installation, run the following command to obtain a detailed set information that describes how to prepare for and execute NBCCR"

# NBCCR -h -v

V. UNINSTALL INSTRUCTIONS

Manually remove NBCCR from the appropriate directory:

/usr/openv/netbackup/bin/support or <NetBackup install path>\NetBackup\bin\support

Etrack Incident = 3909261

ISSUE: NBCCR fails with Invalid user ID or password message inside the History file.

DESCRIPTION:  Execution of nbccr with an associated SRA file appears to complete, but no changes were made.  In the nbccr history file can see message indicating the EMM database password must be specified.

11/03/2017 11:40:08: The database password must be specified with the -emmpwd option in order to make corrections.

11/03/2017 11:40:08: If the password is not known or set to the default random password it can be changed via the nbdb_admin command.

FIX:  EMM password requirement error is shown in standard output from execution of nbccr with proper SRA file.

STATUS:  This issue was resolved in this NetBackup 8.1.1 release.  The error indicating the -emmpwd is needed has been added to standard out so the problem is more quickly identified.

Description:

The 8.1.1 version of NBCCR also includes an update to the version number and release date.
