Malware Scan for virtual machine backup sets |
Backup Exec lets you run malware scan on VMware and Hyper-V virtual machine backup sets and can be triggered on an ad hoc basis or before the restore operation. Backup Exec currently uses Windows Defender to run the malware scan. |

Backup Exec provides the ability to configure role-based access control (RBAC) and gives additional security by controlling the level of access to the Backup Exec console. |

Microsoft 365 enhancements - SharePoint Online fidelity restore |
Backup Exec now supports disaster recovery for SharePoint sites. All the SharePoint entities can be recreated and the properties, settings, and data for all entities can be restored, including their permissions. |

Backup Exec now supports multi-stream backup of disks within a virtual machine. Virtual disks are backed up in parallel, which helps to achieve faster virtual machine backups along with enhanced utilization of disk performance and network bandwidth. |
