Support for Microsoft 365 - Phase II

Backup Exec enables you to backup and restore Microsoft 365 data.

The following workloads are supported:

Phase I of Microsoft 365 protection included support for Exchange Online and OneDrive.

Support for SQL Server 2022

Backup Exec now protects SQL Server 2022. You can also host the Backup Exec database on SQL Server 2022.

Backup Exec Agent for Oracle

The Agent for Oracle now supports Oracle 19c and Oracle 21c.

Support for partial virtual machine restore

Backup Exec enables you to restore selected disks from within a virtual machine backup, which helps to restore critical disks faster with no impact to other disks and with no data loss.

Azure Object Lock

Customers can now create Write Once, Read Many (WORM) enabled backup sets on Azure cloud storage configured with Backup Exec cloud deduplication. Azure Object Storage offers protection from ransomware and capitalizes on the deduplication to cloud feature.

Backup Exec has already extended support for S3 Object Lock.

Support for new cloud storage regions

Backup Exec users benefit from cloud storage choices through support for the following cloud storage regions, enabling greater flexibility and economy:

  • Google: Columbus

  • Google: Dallas

  • Google: Milan

  • Google: Madrid

  • Google: Paris

  • Amazon: Middle East (UAE)
