OWA 2003: Checking that components have been removed
To check that the \EnterpriseVaultPublic and \EnterpriseVaultExchange virtual directories have been removed from Active Directory
- On the back-end Exchange Server, open Exchange System Manager and select the required Exchange Server.
- Expand Protocols > HTTP folders.
- Select the name of the required Exchange Virtual Server. \EnterpriseVaultPublic and \EnterpriseVaultExchange virtual directories should not be listed in the right-hand pane.
In a clustered environment, the \EnterpriseVaultPublic and \EnterpriseVaultExchange virtual directories might still be visible in IIS after running the removal script on the passive node. These virtual directories will be removed when the Exchange Server synchronizes IIS and Active Directory configuration data.
To check that \EnterpriseVaultProxy virtual directory has been removed from the front-end Exchange Server
- On the front-end Exchange Server, open IIS Manager.
- Expand the required website, and check that \EnterpriseVaultProxy virtual directory has been removed
To check that \EntepriseVaultProxy and \EVOWA virtual directories have been removed from the back-end Exchange 2003 Server
- On the back-end Exchange Server, open IIS Manager.
- Expand the required website, and check that \EntepriseVaultProxy and \EVOWA virtual directories have been removed.
To check that the Enterprise Vault servers have been removed from the proxy bypass list
- Perform the following steps on front-end and back-end Exchange Server 2003 computers.
- Open a command prompt window.
- Enter the command: Proxycfg
- The Enterprise Vault servers should not be displayed. If these were the only entries, then nothing will be displayed.
