New features in NetBackup 8.1.2

  • NetBackup integration with Vnomic: NetBackup 8.0 and later versions support integration of Vnomic orchestration software to provide data protection for Cisco FlexPod. This protection solution is applicable specifically for SAP HANA environments.

  • End of Life (EOL) of AIX and HP-UX master servers does not affect SAP clients: Starting with version 8.1.2, NetBackup no longer supports HP-UX and AIX platforms for master and media servers. However, NetBackup still supports client computers that run on HP-UX and AIX platforms.

  • Power 8 effect on SAP HANA databases: SAP HANA databases support Power 8 processors.

  • NetBackup supports SAP HANA cluster deployment with virtual host name.
