Managing Policies
Managing Policies involves configuring and maintaining rules that govern how data is identified, classified, monitored, and acted upon within the organization. Administrators can create new policies or edit existing ones to align with compliance objectives, security standards, and operational workflows. Each policy can be tailored to address specific use cases such as identifying sensitive data, monitoring user access, tagging files, or detecting abnormal activity. Administrators can define the data scope, conditions (such as keywords, file types, or access events), and actions to be taken when policy conditions are met - such as tagging files, raising alerts, or generating reports. In addition to creating and editing, policy management includes enabling, disabling, or deleting policies based on changing business requirements. Effective policy management ensures better data governance, reduces risk exposure, and supports regulatory compliance across the enterprise.

Effective management of policies is crucial for maintaining a strong information governance posture. By creating, editing, and monitoring policies, administrators can ensure that sensitive data is properly classified, access is appropriately controlled, and any violations or risks are promptly identified and addressed. This not only supports compliance with internal and regulatory standards but also strengthens data security and operational efficiency across the organization.
