Configuring Snapshot Manager for Data Center storage array plug-ins
Snapshot Manager for Data Center plug-ins are software modules that enable the discovery of your assets in the on-premises storage array environment. After registering the Snapshot Manager for Data Center server with the NetBackup primary server, you must configure the storage array plug-ins to be able to protect your workloads using NetBackup.
You can deploy the Snapshot Manager for Data Center server on-premises to protect storage arrays. You can use the NetBackup Administration Console (Java UI) to configure the storage array plug-ins. The overall steps to configure different storage array plug-ins are similar, only the configuration parameters vary.See Configure the storage array plug-ins for Snapshot Manager for Data Center. for configuration parameters for each storage array plug-in.
To configure a storage array plug-in, perform the following steps in Java UI:
- In the NetBackup Administration Console, in the left pane, click the Media and Device Management node.
- Click the Credentials node to see the Snapshot Managers option.
- Select the Snapshot Manager for Data Center where you want to add the plug-in. The Snapshot Manager for Data Center plugin pane is refreshed. Right-click the blank row.
- In the menu, click New Storage Array Plugin.
- In the Add New Plugin dialog, from the Available Plugins list, select the plug-in you want to add. Click Next.
- In the Configure Plugin dialog box, enter the plug-in ID. Enter the credential details. Click OK.
A confirmation message is displayed. The newly added plug-in is listed in the Snapshot Manager for Data Center Plugins pane.
Note:
The plug-in ID must be unique and must comprise of: A-Z, a-z, 0 9, + ,. , _ , - characters.
You may also add storage array plug-ins in the Snapshot Manager for Data Center using NetBackup APIs. For details, refer to the NetBackup API documentation: https://swagger.javaws.kubert.vrts.io/
