Centralized Windows Data Collection using SSH

NetBackup IT Analytics can now perform data collection from NetBackup on Windows using SSH by a non-administrator user. To accommodate this capability the Cohesity NetBackup Data Collector policy collection method options are modified as follows:

  • Data Collector installed on NetBackup Primary Server

  • SSH Protocol to NetBackup Primary Server(s) (Linux, Windows)

  • WMI Protocol to NetBackup Primary Server(s) (Windows Only)

The prerequisites to collect data from NetBackup Primary Server using SSH on Windows are as below:

  • NetBackup 10.4 or later must be installed.

  • OpenSSH server must be configued and operational on the NetBackup primary server.

  • The user is configured in NetBackup RBAC with the required authorization.

  • The user's API key is created.
