Configuring a Veritas Data Deduplication storage unit on NetBackup
Veritas recommends that you run a maximum of 80 parallel duplication streams on Veritas Data Deduplication.
To create a storage server on NetBackup
- Log on to the NetBackup primary server from the NetBackup web UI.
- Select Disk storage.
- The Add Storage pop-up window appears. Select OpenStorage. Click Start.
- The Add OpenStorage storage server form appears. Enter the storage server details and your credentials.  Specify the Storage server type as PureDisk.Click Next. 
- In the Select media server form, select the media server from the list of media servers that is available. Click Select.
- You have the option to add additional media servers. If you want to add additional media servers, click Add.Click Next to continue. 
- In the Add OpenStorage storage server form, click Save.
- Verify that the storage server is created successfully. Click Add disk pool.
- In the Select a storage server form, select the storage servers. Click Select.
- In the Add MSDP disk pool form, specify the disk pool name. Click Next.
- In the Add MSDP disk pool form, click Next.
- If you want to add any replication targets, click Add. Click Next to continue.
- Verify all the details in the Add MSDP disk pool form, click Finish.
- The disk pool gets created successfully. Select Add storage unit to add a storage unit.
- In the Add MSDP storage unit form, enter the storage unit name and specify the maximum concurrent jobs that need to be run from the drop-down list. Click Next.
- In the Add MSDP storage unit form, select a disk pool and click Next.
- In the Add MSDP storage unit form, under Select media server, choose the Manually select option. Click Next.
- Verify that the storage unit is added successfully. Click Save.
