Prerequisites for configuring the NetBackup client

Before configuring the NetBackup client for Veritas Access, you must have completed the following:

  • You must have a NetBackup master server external to your Veritas Access cluster. The NetBackup administrator configures the NetBackup master server.

See the Veritas NetBackup product documentation for more information.

  • Add the valid licenses on the NetBackup master server.

  • Make sure that host names of the master server and the NetBackup client installed on Veritas Access can be resolved and the reverse lookup is working.

  • The minimum recommended size of the file system is 10 GB with a 5-way striped layout. The size of the file system must be decided based on the the backup policies that have been created. See https://www.veritas.com/support/en_US/article.100045746 for more details.

  • Ensure that a supported version of docker is installed before starting the installation.

  • Specify a separate private IP range for the docker during docker configuration to avoid overlapping.
