Preparing zone environments
The topic applies to SF, SFHA, SFCFSHA, SF Oracle RAC, and VCS.
You need to keep the following items in mind when you install or upgrade VCS using the installer in a zone environment on an Oracle Solaris 11 operating system.
All the zones are upgraded (both global and non-global) unless they are detached and unmounted.
After installing packages in the global zone, you have to install the required packages in the non-global zone for Oracle Solaris 11 if you are performing installation for the first time. On Oracle Solaris 11.1, if the non-global zone has an older version of InfoScale packages already installed then during the upgrade of the InfoScale packages in global zone, packages inside non-global zone are automatically upgraded provided the zone is running.
Make sure that all non-global zones are booted and in the running state before you install or upgrade the VCS packages in the global zone. If the non-global zones are not running at the time of upgrade, you have to set the Arctera publisher and then attach the zone with the -u option to install or upgrade the VCS packages inside the non-global zone.
