Problem

Cannot remove an invalid backup destination in System Recovery.

Cause

A backup destination can be removed from the backup destination list as long as it is available within Windows and is associated with valid credentials associated. Connect the drive, then remove it from "Manage Backup Destinations" to remove it from being displayed in the console.  However, if the drive is no longer available or the credentials have changed, and the reference to it must be deleted from the console, the history file will need to be deleted.  Note that the history file includes all backup job history and can not be edited for individual content.

Solution

Warning: Incorrect use of the Windows registry editor may prevent the operating system from functioning properly. Great care should be taken when making changes to a Windows registry. Registry modifications should only be carried-out by persons experienced in the use of the registry editor application. It is recommended that a complete backup of the registry and workstation be made prior to making any registry changes.
Warning: This process will remove all backup Destinations, all scheduled backups, and all history of previously run backups
