How to remove Offline Vault/Vault Cache from an Enterprise Vault client
Solution
The following steps will remove Offline Vault / Vault Cache components from a client machine.
Warning : Incorrect use of the Windows registry editor may prevent the operating system from functioning properly. Great care should be taken when making changes to a Windows registry. Registry modifications should only be carried-out by persons experienced in the use of the registry editor application. It is recommended that a complete backup of the registry and workstation be made prior to making any registry changes.

- Go to Start | Run and type Regedit to open the Windows Registry.
- Navigate to the following registry key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\KVS\Enterprise Vault\Client
- Right-click on Client and choose New | DWORD Value.
- Type the name RemoveOfflineVault and set its value to 1.
- Restart Outlook for the change to take affect.
Note: Delete the RemoveOfflineVault registry value when it is no longer needed. It is not possible to enable Offline Vault / Virtual Vault if this registry value exists.
To enable per machine add the entry under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\KVS\Enterprise Vault\Client
