Problem

Even if there are no backup jobs currently defined for a specific drive, the option to create a new recovery point set may be grayed out with the following error message.

Error Message

The recovery point set option is disabled because you have already assigned a selected drive to an existing recovery point set backup job. You can only have one recovery point set defined for each drive.

Solution

1. If the backup jobs have already been deleted and the recovery point set option sill remains to be grayed out while creating a new backup job:
a. Reset the backup job and history information in Backup Exec System Recovery(BESR) or Veritas System Recovery(SSR) by following the steps in the below mentioned article link:

2. If the recover point set option is still grayed out:
a. Stop the BESR/SSR service.
b. End the VproTray.exe process from the task manager.
c. Run the fixinstall.bat file located in the install directory for BESR/SSR.
d. Reboot the system and try again.
