Problem

Event ID 58053: "Robotic library transport element full error. The robotic library has reported a transport element full error condition. This is typically caused by media being left in the robotic arm during an incomplete shutdown of the library hardware. The library and drive states have been set to offline" is reported in the Application Log.

The robotic library has reported a destination element full error condition. This is typically caused by trying to mount media into a drive that already contains media.

The drive state has been set to offline. Please attend to this condition.

The robotic library has reported a destination element full error condition. This is typically caused by trying to mount media into a drive that already contains media. The drive state has been set to offline. Please attend to this condition.


Cause

The alert is reported when the robotic library tries to move media from a robotic library drive to a slot and the slot already contains media. The robotic library state has been set offline. 


Solution

Move the media to another slot and then re-inventory (scan) the robotic library. In case the issue persists, try the following steps:
  • Power cycle the Robotic library, autoloader or tape drive, followed by Inventory job.
  • Check for hardware errors or conditions, if required contact the hardware vendor.

How to troubleshoot issues with a Robotic Library (autoloader/changer) and/or Tape Drive(s).
