Description

Salesforce Connectors in Alta SaaS Protection (ASP) backup all standard objects, such as Custom objects, files, attachments, CRMs, and metadata from the Salesforce organization being targeted, except for Feed, History, and Share objects.

The Feed, History, and Share objects are optional, and are not backed up by default for the following reasons:

  • They are not typically critical for business continuity.
  • The History objects cannot be restored, and are only useful for retaining historical information for auditing purposes.
  • Only specific types of Share and Feed objects can be restored due to Salesforce API limitations.
  • Backing them up can cause the Connector to run much longer, and reduce storage in ASP.

They are configured under the Capture Scope section of the Salesforce Connector.

Once a Salesforce connector is created in ASP, the Capture Scope cannot be edited again via the Admin Portal UI.  Since backing up the optional Feed, History, and Share objects may increase the backup run times and storage, there may be times when it's not desired to have these enabled anymore and to have these disabled again (default option).

Support can assist with editing the Capture Scope of the Salesforce Connector. Open a support case to get assistance.
