Malware scan functionality was introduced in NetBackup v10.1
Multiple issues were reported or discovered in NetBackup v10.3 and lower.
These were related to Instant Access functionality provided by MSDP, Scan host configuration, scan failures and performance issues in general.
Cause
The product has evolved over a period of time, leading to multiple product enhancements. For NetBackup v10.3 and lower, some issues were addressed by providing a bug fix binary (EEB).
Solution:
The product enhancements and fixes are now available in NetBackup v10.3.0.1 and v10.4.0.1.
It is strongly recommended to upgrade NetBackup to v10.3.0.1 or higher.
The enhancements and bug fixes will not be made available for a lower version of NetBackup by means of a bug-fix binary (EEB).
