Problem

Malware scan job fails with error 'Missing parameters, worklist id or OS platform or log file path.'

Error Message

Error seen in webui:

'Missing parameters, worklist id or OS platform or log file path.'

No error seen in install_path\netbackup\logs\nbmalwarescanner logs, the job abruptly stops logging.

Cause

A third party antivirus/antimalware agent installed on scan host, was deleting nbmalwareutil.exe from the C:\malware\<dir_number> path and update.bat from NetBackup Malware Scanner's install path.

Solution

• Ensure that the latest Microsoft Visual C Re-distributable package is installed on Windows scan host.
• Uninstall third party antivirus/antimalware tool from scan host or exclude C:\malware\ and NetBackup Malware Scanner's install path.
• Ensure that update.bat is not missing from NetBackup Malware Scanner's install. If required, reinstall NetBackup Malware Scanner.
