Problem

When we take backup of Windows Server 2022 with BMR enabled policy BMR recognize the version as Windows Server 2019 due to versioning changes introduced by Microsoft. Thus BMR displays the operating system name as Windows Server 2019.

Error Message

Below are the places in GUI where BMR shows Operating System name as Windows Server 2022

1. BMR Client in Java GUI

2. Boot servers in JAVA GUI

Cause

For Windows Server 2022 Microsoft has introduced new versioning method. NetBackup BMR 10.x fails to identify this as Windows Server 2022, thus it gets displayed as Windows Server 2019.

Solution

These known UI issues will be fixed in the next release.

Note: Netbackup 10.x presently support just the self-restore BMR functionality for Windows Server 2022.
