Cause

The installation/upgrade results in a specific registry key value getting modified

Solution

1. Open the Registry (regedit), and browse to the following key:

Warning: Incorrect use of the Windows registry editor may prevent the operating system from functioning properly. Great care should be taken when making changes to a Windows registry. Registry modifications should only be carried-out by persons experienced in the use of the registry editor application. It is recommended that a complete backup of the registry is done prior to making any registry changes

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{71a27cdd-812a-11d0-bec7-08002be2092f}

2. Export this key to maintain a backup. 

3. Edit the UpperFilters value in the right-pane (right-click > Modify).

4. Add value vTrack below volsnap (UpperFilters are listed in a single line as per first screenshot below - upon editing the field they are then listed vertically as per the second screenshot) 

5. Restart the server.
