Enterprise Vault doesn’t archive files having size greater than 4 GB when the vault store has an open standard or smart Amazon Simple Storage Service (S3) or Amazon Commercial Cloud Service (C2S) partition
Problem
Veritas Enterprise Vault™ Cloud Streamer cannot upload archived files having size greater than 4 GB to the S3 bucket mentioned in an open standard or smart Amazon Simple Storage Service (S3) partition or Amazon Commercial Cloud Service (C2S) partition.
Cause
Enterprise Vault 14.0 uses the TransferManager of AWS CPP SDK v 1.6.25 to upload archived files to the AWS S3 bucket. The TransferManager of AWS CPP SDK v 1.6.25 can only upload a file with a maximum size of to 4 GB.
Solution
Veritas Enterprise Vault™ team has logged a support case with Amazon Support, and expects a fix for this issue in the next release of AWS CPP SDK. Subsequently, Veritas Enterprise Vault will use the latest AWS CPP SDK in its next release.
In Enterprise Vault 14.0, the StorageOnlineOpns.exe will not queue items greater than 4 GB into StorageQueue to avoid backlog of items in queue, and will not archive the files larger than 4 GB.
