Problem

The /mnt/nbdata/ filesystem fills to 100% quickly once backups start in the environment.

Specifically there are several hundred directories here: /mnt/nbdata/usr/openv/var/proxy_peers, each of them around 0.4 MB in size, this is normal.

Once the partition becomes full the instance will stop accepting connections.

Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
/dev/loop1 194M 190M 0 100% /mnt/nbdata

Error Message

Backups may show the following error in the detailed status:

Received status: 7639 with message Failed to create a peer name mapping.

Cause

In Flex the /mnt/nbdata partition is set to 200MB; this is increased to 1GB in Flex 2.1 and onward, but will not be applied to any instances created while at the Flex version .

Additionally /mnt/nbdata was designed to hold configuration data, not logs.
