Problem

Backups to S3 AWS storage fail with storage server is down and the properties of the cloud storage server fail to load. 

Error Message

Error while loading cloud storage server properties:


 Debug logs for OID 202, 220, 230, 222 show the following error and it indicates a case mis-match.

Cause

The naming convention caused the failure as NetBackup expects the use of lowercase as compared to uppercase in the Region name and Location constraints settings.

Solution

Browse to the following location Host properties > Master server > Cloud storage.

Select the appropriate Service Hostname that you have configured and click Change.

In the Change Cloud Storage dialog box, click on Region Settings.

Make sure the Region name and Location constraints in mentioned correctly and in lowercase as highlighted below:
