Tape Device Information warning is seen in the Environment Check report

Solution

1. Go to Device Manager.

2. Enable Show hidden devices option :

Device Manager does not display devices that are not connected

Remove the offline Devices under Medium Changer and Tape Drives and rerun  the environment check.

They will be visible as greyed out once you enable the option to show hidden devices.

Or

1. Go to Start > Run >  Regedit

Warning: Incorrect use of the Windows registry editor may prevent the operating system from functioning properly. Great care should be taken when making changes to a Windows registry. Registry modifications should only be carried-out by persons experienced in the use of the registry editor application. It is recommended that a complete backup of the registry and workstation be made prior to making any registry changes.

2. Open adamm.log from BE Install path. Identify the working scsi devices and compare it with the ones present in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\SCSI
Delete only the TapeLibraryChanger/TapeDrive related registry keys which are not connected to the server.
Note: Take a backup of the registry before performing the actions.

3. Rerun  the Environment check from Backup Exec Installation files DriveLetter:\BE\WinNT\Install\VxValidator64 and confirm the Tape Device related warning should go away.
