Problem

File System Archiving (FSA) placeholders are being recalled when using McAfee Endpoint Security 10.5 on the file server.

Error Message

Using McAfee Endpoint Security 10.5 with a default configuration on a file server can cause the recall of archived files during a scan.
This could happen if the ON-DEMAND SCAN > Files that have been migrated to storage option is selected.

Solution

Make sure that you clear the ON-DEMAND SCAN > Files that have been migrated to storage option.

  1. Click Start > All Programs.
  2. Click McAfee > McAfee Endpoint Security.
  3. In the McAfee Endpoint Security dialog box, click Threat Prevention.
  4. In the Settings dialog box, scroll down to ON-DEMAND SCAN.
  5. On the Full Scan, Quick Scan, and Right-Click Scan tabs, clear Files that have been migrated to storage.
  6. Click Apply. The recall of the archived files should no longer occur.
