Problem

Shared Resource Tree (SRT) creation fails for NetBackup 8.0 Bare Metal Restore (BMR) with boot server version as RHEL 7.3.

Error Message

Messages similar to the following will appear on BMR Boot server during SRT creation:
Could not load the following package(s) from distribution media:
    xfsprogs (xfsprogs-3.*.x86_64.rpm)
V-125-39 caught exception: runtime error in srtPlat.cpp:PackageInfo::verifyRepository()
[Error] V-125-105 Cannot install operating system onto this SRT.

Cause

For creating an SRT, NetBackup requires xfsprogs rpm. If the required versions of xfsprogs rpm are not present, SRT creation fails.

Solution

Replace the configuration file that is used to create SRTs. The configuration file resides on the BMR Boot Server.
  1. Make a copy of the original createsrt.conf file on the BMR Boot Server (/usr/openv/var/global/createsrt.conf).
  2. Copy the createsrt.conf file provided in the Downloads section.
  3. Re-create the SRT.
  4. Use this SRT for required BMR activities.

Applies To

NetBackup 8.0, RHEL 7.3
