Issue
A eDiscovery Admin needs to perform a batch export of transparent redacted documents for outside counsel to review. However, the only option in this case is to print the documents, but this can only be done for transparent redacted documents on an individual basis, which can be quite cumbersome to accomplish, especially for multiple documents.
Environment
Available with eDiscovery (CW) v711 and forward.
Solution
An option called Transparent Redactions can be enabled for Production Exports by performing the following steps:
- Login to eDiscovery (CW).
- Go to System > Support Features.
- In Support Features, choose the settings as follows:
- Click Submit
Note: There is no need to restart eDiscovery services as the Transparent Redactions option will now appear under Include images section of Production Exports as displayed below:
When the Transparent Redactions option is selected eDiscovery will prompt for confirmation as seen below:
NOTE:
The Transparent Redaction feature is not available for documents that are fully redacted.
