Description
Environment:
- NBU client and server must with FC connections to SAN
- NBU master server, EMM server and media server running on a single hardware.
- NBU client on a seperate computer.
Configuration:
A. For Windows systems, run the following command -sanclient 1 on the NBU client:
Install_path \NetBackup\bin\bpclntcmd.exe -sanclient 1
B. For Unix/Linux Systems,
On Master server
1. Starting nbhba mode
- Run the command: /usr/openv/netbackup/bin/admincmd/nbftsrv_config -nbhba
- For all questions the answer is ‘y’
- Reboot afterwards
2. Mark ports
- Run /usr/openv/netbackup/bin/admincmd/nbhba -l
- Run /usr/openv/netbackup/bin/admincmd/nbhba -modify -wwn string -mode target
- The wwn string is the third part of the result of nbhba -l
3. Verify the changes
- Run /usr/openv/netbackup/bin/admincmd/nbhba -L
4. Configuring the FT services
- Run /usr/openv/netbackup/bin/admincmd/nbftsrv_config
- Reboot afterwards
On clients:
- Run /usr/openv/netbackup/bin/bpclntcmd -sanclient 1
- Run ./bp.start_all
Once completing the configuration, go back to the Master server:
1. Open the Admin console
2. The SAN Client will appear under Device and media management->Devices->SAN Client
