Problem
Users may experience significant delays when launching executables on a Windows server running NetBackup. This issue is particularly noticeable when security hardening is applied to the server, and Certificate Revocation List (CRL) checking of all executables is enabled under Software Restriction policies.
Error Message
N/A - The primary symptom is a noticeable degradation in the performance of the Java Console. Please note that this is a performance issue and does not generate a specific error message.
Cause
The performance degradation may be caused by the system setting: "Use Certificate Rules on Windows Executables for Software Restriction Policies". When this setting is enabled, it can lead to degraded performance.
Solution
If you are not required to maintain a high level of hardening, consider disabling the "Use Certificate Rules on Windows Executables for Software Restriction Policies" setting.
