Public Folder archiving is configured using Auto-Enabling Root folder in Enterprise Vault. All the folders under the target specified in the wizard are created with new archives. However due to a disaster recovery the EnterpriseVaultDirectory database has to be restored where the Public Folder Targets have been lost.
Once the Public Folder Targets are reconfigured nothing in the folders are archived but manual archiving and restoring work as expected.
Cause
This is because there are Filter messages left within the public folder itself. The Public Folder Task is scanning these messages during archiving and the values no longer match the configuration.
Solution
Please get in touch with Veritas Support Services to resolve the aforementioned issue and remove the hidden filter message from each directory
