Cause

Only the master server virtual name was in the media server bp.conf servers list.

Solution

Ensure the media server, servers list contains the master server virtual name and the cluster physical node names. The virtual server name is the first record.

Windows:
C:\Program Files\Veritas\NetBackup\bin\admincmd\bpgetconfig | findstr SERVER

Unix:
# /usr/openv/netbackup/bin/admincmd/bpgetconfig | grep SERVER

SERVER = virtual_name
SERVER = master_node_a
SERVER = master_node_b

Applies To

Master Server is in a cluster configuration.
