How to obtain the CaseID and SearchID for any search in Enterprise Vault (EV) Compliance Accelerator (CA) or Discovery Accelerator (DA)

Solution

The CaseID and SearchID of a search is often needed for use in SQL queries when troubleshooting or monitoring Enterprise Vault (EV) Compliance Accelerator (CA) or Discovery Accelerator (DA) search issues or performance.  The CA Department ID is referenced as the CaseID in the SQL database tables.

The procedures to obtain the SearchID of any search is the same in CA and DA 6.x, 7.x and 2007.x, but change with CA and DA 8.x and above.  The CA Department ID is referenced as the CaseID in the SQL database tables.

For CA/DA 6.x, 7.x, 2007.x

  1. Under the Case Administration or Department Administration column on the DA or CA home page, click on the Case or Department with the search for which the CaseID and SearchID is to be obtained.

  2. Click on the Search link to access the listing of searches for the Case or Department.

  3. Hover the mouse over the name of the search.

  4. Look in the URL in the Status Bar at the bottom of the web browser page to find the SearchID and CaseID numbers as shown in Figure 1 below.
