How to reset Vault Cache from an Outlook client

Description

To reset Vault Cache from an Outlook client

  1. Press CTRL + SHIFT together and one of the Enterprise Vault buttons on the Enterprise Vault Tab of the Outlook Client.

  1. This will bring up the Enterprise Vault Diagnostics window.
  2. Press Reset to trigger the process to rebuild the Vault Cache or Partial Reset to affect the Metada Cache.


     

The options available are as follows:

Reset

  • Deletes all Metadata & Content Cache files.
  • Forces a full synchronization and initializes download.

    Note: Please be aware that resetting the Vault Cache will require Outlook to be closed and re-opened before the rebuild of Vault Cache can occur. Reset will remove all the cached data along with the emails present in the ToArchive folder added as a part of preemptive archiving (Unarchived emails). All previous Vault Cache content will be required to be downloaded again.  

Partial Reset

  • Just affects all the Metadata Cache.
  • Forces a full synchronization and initializes download.
