Problem

Using NetBackup to protect Lotus / IBM Domino servers that are configured to use the Domino Attachment and Object Service (DAOS)

Solution

There is no Lotus API-specific functionality for backing up DAOS related components in Domino Server.

The DAOS catalog file (daoscat.nsf) is a Lotus Notes database that will be backed up with the rest of the Domino Data Directory specified in a Lotus-Notes policy inNetBackup. The other DAOS components (daos.cfg and the .NLO files) are static and should be backed up as flat files with a Standard or MS-Windows policy (open file backups are not necessary).
