Problem

A Storage Array is not appearing under DMP DSMs in Veritas Enterprise Administrator (VEA) after installing Veritas Storage Foundation 5.1 DMP Device Specific Modules (DSMs) option on Microsoft Windows 2008.

Solution

The problem occurs due to Microsoft Multipath I/O(MPIO) feature on Windows Server 2008 has not been enabled.

To correct this issue, the Microsoft Multipath input/output(Microsoft MPIO) feature must be enabled before or after installing Veritas Storage Foundation 5.1 DMP Device Specific Modules(DSMs).

To Install Microsoft MPIO feature.

1. Make sure there is only one path connected to the array

2. In the Server Manager console tree, click the Features node.

3. In the Features pane, under Features Summary, click Add Features.

4. In the Add Features Wizard, select the Multipath I/O check box, and click Next.

5. Follow the steps in the Add Feature Wizard.

6. Reboot the server

7. After rebooting, VEA should now shows an Vendor-Storage Array and MPIO tab.
