Problem

For a Veritas Volume Manager Diskgroup resource (VMDg) clustered using Microsoft or Veritas Cluster, the diskgroup would deport unexpectedly.

 

Error Message

vxio: cluster or private disk group %2 has lost access to a majority of its disks. Its reservation thread has been stopped

 

Cause

This message indicates that the host lost access to majority of the disks in a disk group. As a result, vxio will releases the SCSI reservations from the remaining disks in the disk group.

 

Solution

Review the Windows Event Viewer for any hard disk failure or connectivity events.
