Cause

This behavior may be due to a feature in NetBackup that shuts down the Enterprise Media Manager (EMM) database when the disk space is exceeded on the volume where the EMM database resides.  For more information on this feature, refer to article 100017596, found below in the Related Documents section.

Solution

Check the free disk space on the EMM Server, on the volume where the EMM database resides.  Increase the available disk space and then run nbdb_admin -start, located in the following directory:

UNIX: /usr/openv/db/bin
Windows: install_path\NetBackup\bin
