Resolution:
NetBackup Status Code 93 is mostcommonly the result of a tape from another source (such as Backup Exec) beingadded to the library.  NetBackup will not, without making configurationchanges, overwrite different tape formats.

To allow NetBackup tooverwrite foreign tape formats, open the NetBackup Administrative Console, andunder Host Properties, select the master server, and open the properties of themaster server (see Figure 1)

Thengo to the "Media" section, review what options are selected under the "AllowMedia Overwrite" section (see Figure 2)

Any ofthese can be selected, but since NetBackup writes in a tar format, Supportrecommends not selecting "tar" as a format which can be overwritten (see Figure3).

Aftermaking these changes, run an inventory of the library, which updates theNetBackup databases, cycle the NetBackup services/daemons and retry the backup. This should resolve the status 93 error messages.  In case, the issuepersists it has been noted on multiple occasions that running a "Quick Erase" onthe problem media with the "Verify media label before performing operation"unchecked resolves the issue as well.

NOTE: Quick Erase will erasedata from the tape. Please be careful while running a quick erase as theoperation is irreversible. For more information please refer to the RelatedDocuments section.
