"Inventory and Catalog" operation on storage devices fails with error "V-79-57344-33029 - Error - Mount failed".

Problem

First time running the "Inventory and Catalog" operation on storage devices results in failure of the catalog job.

Error Message

The errors seen in job log are:

 V-79-57344-33029 - Error - Mount failed.

 Invalid Physical Volume Library Media Identifier.

 Media GUID: {00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000}

 V-79-57344-33029 - Unable to acquire device for the specified pool and media

Solution

This issue is resolved in Backup Exec 2014 or later versions.
