How are email addresses determined to be internal or external

Problem

During processing, documents will be classified as internal or external under specific conditions.

Solution

The conditions that cause documents to be classified as internal are : 

  1. Where the email domain is listed under Processing > Settings > Define Active Directory parameters and specify internal domains > Internal domains.


     
  2. Where the message does not have a fully qualified email address showing in the participant's address.


The conditions that cause participants to be classified as external are : 

  1. Where the participant has a fully qualified email address and the domain is not listed under Processing > Settings > Define Active Directory parameters and specify internal domains > Internal domains.


It is not possible to change the classification of a message after processing of the data has been completed.
