Problem
Procedures to enable or disable the EV welcome message.
Solution
If there is no need for the users to receive the EV welcome message, follow these steps to remove it.
To remove the message from being sent to new users:
1. Navigate to the Enterprise Vault Directory to locate the
<INSTALL_PATH>\Program Files\Enterprise Vault\EnableMailBoxMessage.msg file.
2. Move this file to another folder inside the directory or delete the file.
Note:
This file should have a copy in the following location:
<INSTALL_PATH>\Program Files\Enterprise Vault\Lang\Mailbox Messages\En\EnableMailBoxMessage.msg. This is installed with the EV installation.
3. New users will not receive the welcome message.
To enable the Welcome message to be sent to new users:
1. Copy the file
<
INSTALL_PATH>\Program Files\Enterprise Vault\Lang\Mailbox Messages\En\
EnableMailboxMessage.msg file to the
<INSTALL_PATH>\Program Files\Enterprise Vault directory.
2. Double-click the
EnableMailboxMessage.msg file in Windows Explorer to edit the message using Outlook. The message can be changed for each EV environment. The file contains generic instructions describing the changes that EV enabled users may need to complete.
3. Enable a mailbox to test the message contents.
