Cause

TCP port 7394 ( nbfsd) and 111 ( portmap) from the target ESX server to the media server was not open.
 

Solution

Check the communication between media server to ESX server manually.

Refer to the Related Articles link for an article to test the communication manually from Esxi to media server.

Restart NetBackup services on media server and verify the 7394 port communication between Esxi and media server.
