During a SDR restore the SDR wizard reports the Backup Exec server cannot authorize the Backup Exec for remote agent running on this computer.

Problem
When performing a Simplified Disaster Recovery ((SDR) restore the Backup Exec remote agent used during SDR can't establish a trust with the media server to perform the restore. A trust relationship cannot be established or authorized with the Backup Exec server (Figure 1).

Error Message
Backup Exec server cannot authorize the Backup Exec for Remote Agent running on this computer.
Cause
Backup Exec media server NDMP port has been changed to use port other then 10000.
Solution
WORKAROUND:
If the NDMP port number is changed on the media server perform the following.
A) Boot using the SDR recovery wizard.
B) Before starting the recovery process in the SDR recovery wizard go to a command prompt ( Utilities Tab - Start Command Prompt )
C) Open up the file ‘x:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\services’ in notepad by typing
“notepad.exe x:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\services” at the command prompt.

D) Add the following entry at the end of the file and save it"
ndmp <#####>/tcp
Where <#####> is the new port number ( Port number must match the Backup Exec media server)
