Problem
After installing Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 6.4 kernel update, the VERITAS Filesytem (VxFS) component of Veritas’s SFHA/SFCFSHA/SFRAC (5.1SP1RP3, 6.0.1 & 6.0.3) stack fails to install or function, due to breakages in the kernel interfaces.

Cause
VxFS component has a kernel compatibility issue with RHEL 6.4
Solution
Veritas has released a public patch to resolve this issue for :
Storage Foundation & High Availability (SFHA) 5.1SP1RP3, 6.0.1 & 6.0.3
Storage Foundation Cluster File System (SFCFS) 5.1SP1RP3, 6.0.1 & 6.0.3
Storage Foundation for Oracle RAC (SFRAC) 5.1SP1RP3, 6.0.1 & 6.0.3
Rolling Patch: 5.1SP1RP4
https://sort.Veritas.com/patch/detail/7890
Patch: 6.0.300.300 (Public hotfix 3 for installation on VxFS 6.0.3)
Note1: This patch requires 6.0.3 to be installed first.
https://sort.Veritas.com/patch/detail/6998
Note2: The installation of 6.0.3 on RHEL6.4 will fail to configure VRTSvxfs package due to this problem. But upgrade to 6.0.300.300 followed by configuration, will complete the installation of VRTSvxfs package.
Note3: Starting from Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 6.2 kernel update, trusted boot software (tboot package) gets installed when full installation (not the standard installation) is selected. This will modify the grub/menu.list file impacting the root disk encapsulated systems (customer might not be able to boot from the encapsulated root disk)
Workaround1: If the system is already upgraded to RHEL6.4 with full installation, remove tboot software
Workaround2: Un-encapsulate the system before upgrading to RHEL6.4
