Event ID 8390 The EnterpriseVault.DirectoryConnection Object reported an error General Access Denied error in the Discovery Accelerator event log

Problem

 

During a Discovery Accelerator (DA) Export the Info Status continues to show Processing... and never finishes.

The Discovery Accelerator (DA) event log entries are found:

  • Event ID: 8390 The EnterpriseVault.DirectoryConnection Object reported an error General Access Denied 
  • Event ID: 158 APP AS - Customer ID: -1 - Error in customers synchronising thread. System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: Login failed for user '(null)'. Reason: Not associated with a trusted SQL Server connection.  

 

Error Message

Event ID 8390 The EnterpriseVault.DirectoryConnection Object reported an error. General Access Denied.

Cause

 The Enterprise Vault Directory service (and possibly all other Enterprise Vault services) is stopped.

Solution

 Event ID: 8390 

  1. Start the Enterprise Vault Directory service.
  2. Confirm that there are no more Event ID 8390 entries in the Discovery Accelerator event log.

 Note: Check to ensure that all other Enterprise Vault services are started, too.

Event ID: 158 

  1. Log onto the Compliance Accelerator (CA) or Discovery Accelerator (DA) server as the Vault Service Account (VSA).
  2. Open the Services application.
  3. Select the Enterprise Vault Accelerator Manager Service.
  4. Open the Properties of the Enterprise Vault Accelerator Manager Service (EVAMS).
  5. Click on the Log On tab.
  6. Type in the password for the Vault Service Account and confirm the password.
  7. Click OK.
  8. Restart the EVAMS.
  9. Confirm that there are no more Event ID 158 entries in the Discovery Accelerator event log.
