Issue: Some folders are skipped on VM backup of Windows machines after upgrade to 8.3.0.1.
Version: NetBackup 8.3.0.1
Problem Description: During the VM backup of Windows machine, not all Windows files and directories were being mapped. Often files or directories such as D:\Users failed to be mapped. The files that weren't mapped were found to have low File IDs such as 32.A fix had gone in to avoid infinite loops around transactional NTFS which was using File IDs (akin to Inodes) up through File ID 32.This fix was ok for newer installs of Windows, but it was not safe for all volumes.
Solution: The File ID check was rolled back to 27 which is the the last documented reserved value for NTFS 3.1 which was introduced in the early 2000s.In addition, a different fix had been done to deal with circular lookups.
