BIOS
BIOS updates are required for all NetBackup Appliance 5230 and 5330 models, before upgrading to appliance software version 3.2. Each hofix includes the following (latest available) BIOS version: 02.06.0007.
Hotfix installation notes
- Before you install the hotfix, you must first manually reboot the appliance.
- After the appliance reboot has completed, download and install the hotfix.
Note: If you install the hotfix from the IPMI console, the installation may appear to hang when the message Running the Update
appears. When the BIOS update begins, it automatically disconnects you from the IPMI session. The hotfix installation is not affected. Wait a few minutes and then log back in to the IPMI console again.
After the hotfix is installed on the appliance, you can proceed to upgrade the appliance software to version 3.2.
Troubleshooting
If the appliance is not rebooted before you attempt to install the hotfix, the installation may fail to complete and show the following message:
The FRU headers for System FRU and file FRU are not matching.
Do you want to continue?
To resolve this issue, do the following:
- Do not respond to the question.
- Manually reboot the appliance.
- Install the hotfix again. The installation should succeed.
